Construction of private buildings with outdoor swimming pools has been common for many years but this trend is recently becoming even more popular. When thinking about a swimming pool, one should always consider its safety and functionality. In this case, safety means avoiding the risk of slipping on the wet surface, while functionality - the possibility of exploiting all the advantages that a swimming pool has to offer. Granite and marble (even after they are bush hammered, antiquated or flamed) always heat up in the sun to such temperature that they may burn feet (especially the sensitive feet of our children). The risk of burning one`s feet or slipping on the wet surface is reduced considerably thanks to the use of sandstone as a building material for swimming pool borders. Sandstones porosity, which
remains high even if it is wet or impregnated, guarantees safety, while its unique structure provides that its temperature will not exceed the level above which one may get burnt easily.
